Xcelom Joins Genetic Alliance’s Global Genomics Laboratory Network as Its First Laboratory Partner in Hong Kong

The partnership highlights Xcelom’s growing role in advancing rare disease genomics and international clinical collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region.
Xcelom is proud to announce that we have officially joined the Genetic Alliance global genomics laboratory network as its first laboratory partner in Hong Kong. Through this collaboration, Xcelom will work closely with Berry Genomics to provide long-read whole-genome sequencing service (HiFi LR-WGS) based on PacBio HiFi technology , in support of charitable clinical genetic testing for patients and families referred through Genetic Alliance’s global network, which spans 14 countries and 26 clinical partner sites. This initiative aims to expand access to advanced genomic testing for individuals facing diagnostic challenges, particularly those who may otherwise be unable to access timely diagnosis due to geographic, financial, or resource-related barriers.
Xcelom, together with Berry Genomics, successfully passed a rigorous review process, demonstrating our long-read sequencing capabilities, robust quality system, strong technical expertise, and extensive experience in clinical genomics, particularly in clinical long-read sequencing. Our inclusion in the Genetic Alliance network marks an important milestone in Xcelom’s ongoing commitment to global rare disease initiatives and international clinical and research collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region.
